Answers to Commonly Asked Questions
What are your teacher’s qualifications?
We provide qualified music instruction. All of our instructors are degreed/certified music teachers with specialized training to help direct and focus listening, singing, playing and creative skills.
How old does my child need to be to start lessons?
We have classes for all ages from 18 months to the youngest at heart. From 1 to 100 you can play, we guarantee it!
Can parents attend classes?
Parents, Grandparents or care givers are welcome and encouraged to attend classes. We feel music is a shared art that will bring students, parents and community closer together.
Is it possible to bring a sibling who is not registered for class if necessary?
We understand that there are times when this is unavoidable. However, as a general rule, we find that it is better for your student as well as the class if only the registered student attend.
What is the size of the class?
Westside Music School strives for optimum class sizes, with a maximum of 10 students per class.
What instruments do you teach?
Westside Music School specializes in piano/keyboard lessons and early childhood music classes. Arrangements can also be made for guitar, brass, violin and voice lessons.
When are classes offered?
Most classes are available week days, evenings and Saturdays. Please see class offerings for our current schedule.
Will my child perform at recitals?
Performance opportunities (low-pressure recitals) are offered at least twice a year at no additional costs. Our Family Nights are an eagerly anticipated event for our students to show off their new skills.
What if my child is not a beginner?
We offer classes for different skill levels. Please contact us so we can arrange to determine which class may be the best fit.
